X-ray Optics
X-ray optics are more and more important to meet the ever increasing needs of many demanding applications in x-ray diffraction, x-ray fluorescence analysis, and chemical or biological structure determination. However, there is a large variety of purposes to use x-ray optics: increase the primary beam flux or the flux density, improve the angular or energy resolution of a set up, improve the peak-to-background ratio, and many more. In common it comes down to increase the sample throughput and improve the data quality.
Bruker AXS is the innovative supplier developing and supplying the entire range of optical components, in particular the man-made nanometer multi layer optics, so called Goebel Mirrors and Montel optics. All types of that optics are high-tech thin film devices which preparations require highest accuracy, precision, and long reproducibility. For the unique Goebel Mirrors of third generation tolerances which are met are of the order of 1 mm over a distance of 600 km.
Of course, any Bruker AXS DIFFRACTION or SPECTROMETRY SOLUTION can be equipped with the optics optimum for the application. Furthermore, for special requirements optics can be designed; in a first theoretically using ray tracing methods to predict the performance. After prediction matches the expectation the one-off optics is prepared.
