Many leading researchers recognize the power of the kappa geometry (and most high-performance synchrotron beamlines therefore now feature KAPPA goniometers). We completely agree: we invented the kappa geometry!

The KAPPA’s three axes (omega, phi and kappa) give you the maximum flexibility to orient the sample in reciprocal space, while allowing full access to the sample for mounting, cooling or annealing. Our sophisticated mechanical design and ultra-high precision results in the smallest sphere of confusion available. The 2theta offset gives you the ability to collect data to any resolution.

The KAPPA goniometer also incorporates the computer controlled and encoded sample-to-detector distance, allowing “automatic zoom” to collect more reflections per frame for higher productivity or withdrawal to prevent reflection overlap.
